Playing with Plasticine
- ‘The King’
The boy loves modeling little things out of plasticine, and it’s a great way to keep him happily amused for hours (without the help of a computer) while I try to get on with some sewing. Originally his obsession started with blu-tac actually, he’d ‘collect’ lumps of blu-tac at school and busily fiddle with it, he says it helps him concentrate, and for the most part I think it does help him, although I suspect sometimes he focuses on his little blu-tac models rather than on the lesson or assembly he is meant to be listening to! Still, he makes some amazing miniature figures in assembly, his elephant was particularly memorable.
Anyway, at home he has a large supply of wonderful colourful plasticine (thanks to his grandad and a past birthday) and he has been busy this half term modeling the cars out of Disney’s Cars 2 film, of which he is currently obsessed (and I mean seriously obsessed, and he hasn’t even seen the film yet). I loved this model of ‘the King’ that he did, he spent ages on it, so I just had to get out my camera and capture it, as I hardly ever seem to take photos of him and his creations.
That looks cool. ours end up with a ball of brown everytime, as they mix all the colours
mine always ended up brown too when I was a child. The boy is slightly more ocd about his plasticine staying the right colour though 😀
How about taking photos with a view to making a story for a comic strip?
Brilliant idea Sonia, you know the boy well! 🙂
