Project Ninety One: Adapting Some Cheap Glass Jars with Spray Paint

October 18, 2011

I found some big glass storage jars in Tesco reduced to £1 each, so I bought two of them on impulse (ooh I know, aren’t I reckless? Living life on the edge, me) despite not liking the cheap plastic gray lids. I decided I could easily change the lids, we still had some red spray paint somewhere in the house.

I gave the cheap plastic lids about four or five coats of spray paint each, knocking myself out with the fumes in the process (note to self: open a window next time). They have turned out OK, not a horrible cheap plastic gray colour anymore, but not quite as vibrant as I was hoping. Still, a nice easy project to transform some glass jars.

Don’t they look much better now? If anyone was wondering, the colourful things that are inside the jar in the top photo are some of my fabric scrap baubles! These are a few of the mini ones, and I will have a proper post dedicated to them all soon, I promise!
