Project Three: Cat Silhouette Make-Up Bag
Here’s another example of one of my prism pouches I made as a present. This one I made for my Aunt, who lives in France and loves cats. I would usually use bondaweb to secure the applique pattern, but I had run out so I just pinned the cats in place and went quite slowly with the sewing to avoid any mistakes.I used a white and navy polka dot fabric for the lining and a red zipper with metal teeth. I also interfaced the whole thing to give it a bit more structure as the fabric I used was very lightweight cotton. I was pleased with the end result.
I used the smallest zigzag stitch on my machine to applique the images in place. At one time I was really scared of applique and shied away from it, but now that I have experimented a bit I have gained confidence and have lots of ideas for future projects that I can applique.
